The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop on Sunday, October 4, 2026, entitled “Research Ethics and Academic Integrity.” The workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Ilham Ali Al-Anouz, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit, from the Department of Architecture.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the importance of adhering to academic integrity and ethical principles in academic and scientific research, as well as to introduce the key challenges that may affect women’s research careers and the outcomes of their studies. This contributes to establishing sound and responsible scientific practices. The workshop addressed the concepts of ethics and ethical principles, research ethics, and academic integrity in women’s scientific research. It also presented several examples reflecting the reality of women in the research field, the major challenges and pressures they may face, as well as society’s perception of their role and scientific contributions.
The workshop is part of the activities of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering, which seek to support academic women and female researchers, strengthen their scientific presence, and promote a culture of integrity and commitment to ethical standards in the university and research environment.
