Electronic and Communications Engineering

The department was established in 1986 to prepare engineering cadres specialized in the field of electronic and communications engineering.

Number of years of study: Four years after preparatory school/scientific branch.

The department’s first batch of students graduated in the summer of 1990, and their number was 20 at the time. They were awarded a bachelor’s degree in electronic and communications engineering.

Since then, more than 1,000 engineers with bachelor’s and master’s degrees have graduated, and they now hold technical and academic positions in many state departments and the private sector inside and outside Iraq.

In 2000, postgraduate studies were opened in the department for master’s and Ph.D. studies but were stopped after one year due to the lack of teaching staff.
