The Human Rights Unit at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the Department of Surveying Engineering, organised an interactive workshop on Sunday, 25 October 2026, entitled “The Role of Digital Transformation and E-Governance in Combating Corruption and Promoting Integrity.” The workshop was delivered by Dr. Israa Abd Ali Kazim, Head of the Human Rights Unit, and Dr. Mohammed Khalil, a member of the unit, with the participation of a number of students and university staff.
The workshop aimed to highlight the role of e-governance in reducing administrative and financial corruption, promoting integrity, and protecting human rights within educational institutions.
The discussions focused on the use of digital technologies to simplify administrative and academic procedures and reduce bureaucracy. The workshop also examined how electronic systems can enhance transparency and disclosure, strengthen accountability, and improve institutional performance in line with the requirements of modern administration.
The workshop recommended accelerating the automation of administrative and academic transactions at the College, organising regular training programmes for staff and students on the practical applications of e-governance, and developing digital disclosure mechanisms to safeguard rights and minimise opportunities for corruption.
This workshop forms part of the College of Engineering’s ongoing efforts to support digital transformation, improve institutional practices, and foster a university environment founded on integrity, transparency, and respect for human rights.
