The Department of Architecture at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, organized a field visit for fourth-year students on October 7, 2026, as part of the Interior Space Design course. The visit included the College of Engineering Library and the Central Library at the University of Baghdad, accompanied by a team of faculty members.
The visit aimed to enhance students’ practical understanding of interior space design by connecting theoretical concepts with real-world applications. During the visit, students examined the interior environments of both libraries, focusing on spatial organization, circulation and movement patterns, reading and study areas, lighting, furniture selection, materials, and interior finishes.
The field experience also enabled students to assess the functionality and design quality of existing library spaces, identify potential improvements, and explore appropriate interior design solutions. The knowledge and observations gained are expected to support the development of their academic design projects and strengthen their ability to address practical design challenges.
The visit was supervised by:
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rand Hazem Agha
- Prof. Dr. Elham Ali
- Lecturer Dr. Nisreen Razzaq
- Lecturer Dr. Anfal Moayad
- Assistant Lecturer Sharq Jaafar
- Assistant Lecturer Abbas Mahdi
This activity reflects the Department of Architecture’s commitment to experiential learning and to equipping students with the analytical and design skills needed to create functional, efficient, and user-centered interior environments.
