As part of its ongoing efforts to keep pace with modern technological developments, the Department of Civil Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, organised a scientific seminar entitled “Bridges and Their Forces in Motion Device.” The seminar was chaired by Prof. Dr. Amjad Khalil Al-Bayati and Prof. Dr. Nizar Kamil, in collaboration with MAURER SPS, a company specialising in bridge technologies, expansion joints, and protection systems designed to mitigate the effects of earthquakes and ground vibrations.

The seminar was delivered by Ra’ad Hammoud, Consulting Engineer and Sales Manager of the German company MAURER. He presented an overview of the latest technologies used in bridge engineering, highlighting modern solutions for bridge movement, expansion joints, and structural protection systems that enhance bridge safety, durability, and performance under various loading conditions.

The event was attended by several faculty members and postgraduate students from the College of Engineering. It also featured extensive scientific discussions and questions from the participants, contributing to a valuable exchange of knowledge and enriching the seminar’s academic and technical content.
