Obtaining a master’s degree by Esraa Abdul-Jabbar Shakir, a master’s student in the Department of Water Resources Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, was more than just an academic achievement. It was the culmination of a scientific journey during which she faced difficult health circumstances, yet continued her academic path with determination and perseverance despite the challenges, ultimately achieving her goal and concluding years of study with success.

Researcher Esraa crowned her academic journey with her master’s thesis entitled “The Effect of Water Level Fluctuations on Seepage and Slope Stability in Al-Wand Earth Dam.” The study examined the impact of changes in water levels on seepage and the stability of the earth dam. She was awarded a master’s degree with a Very Good (High) grade, an achievement that reflects the effort and perseverance she demonstrated throughout her academic journey.

In recognition of this achievement and the patience and determination demonstrated by the researcher in overcoming challenges, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul-Majeed, received Esraa Abdul-Jabbar in the presence of the Head of the Department of Water Resources Engineering, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ameen Mohammed Saleh, and her academic supervisor, Prof. Dr. Riyadh Zuhair Al-Zubaidi. They congratulated her on this scientific achievement and praised her determination and commitment to completing her postgraduate studies despite the circumstances that accompanied her academic journey. They emphasized that her achievement represents the outcome of determination, continuous effort, and the ability to overcome challenges.

For his part, the Head of the Department of Water Resources Engineering, along with the academic supervisor, commended the researcher’s efforts throughout her academic journey and her commitment to fulfilling the requirements of her research and studies. They emphasized that obtaining her master’s degree represents the outcome of her hard work and determination to continue her academic path to completion.
