Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, and in cooperation between the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Engineering and the Career Development and Follow-up Division at the University of Baghdad, a team of faculty members and students from the Chemical Engineering Department organized a volunteer campaign on Sunday, 1 December 2025, to plant a variety of seedlings and trees.

The campaign was supervised by the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Rasha Habeeb Salman, and included the participation of undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as several employees and faculty members. The activity was carried out through self-driven efforts and a strong spirit of volunteerism.

The campaign involved planting 45 trees, including acacia, citrus, oleander, jasmine, and pomegranate, with the aim of enhancing green spaces and adding an aesthetic touch to the department’s surroundings.

This activity comes as part of the Chemical Engineering Department’s efforts to promote environmental values and social responsibility among students and academic staff, contributing to the development of a sustainable university environment aligned with the college’s goals.
