Professor Dr. Abdullah Dhayea Asi, a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, participated as a member of the examination committee for the PhD dissertation of Naba Alaa Al-Din Zuhair Mahdi, specializing in Applied Mechanics. The defense was held at the College of Mechanical Engineering, University of Technology, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
The dissertation was entitled:
“Characterization of Sandwich Panels with Auxetic Metamaterials Cores under Different Loading Conditions.”
The dissertation investigated the mechanical properties of sandwich panels incorporating auxetic metamaterial cores and analyzed their behavior under different loading conditions, contributing to the advancement of engineering applications of these materials.
In recognition of his distinguished academic efforts and active participation in the examination committee, Professor Dr. Abdullah Dhayea Asi received a Letter of Appreciation from the Dean of the College of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology, acknowledging his academic contributions to supporting postgraduate studies and scientific research.This participation reflects the ongoing efforts to strengthen scientific and academic cooperation between the University of Baghdad and the University of Technology, promote the exchange of research expertise between academic institutions, and contribute to the advancement of scientific research and postgraduate education in engineering disciplines.
