As part of the College of Engineering – University of Baghdad’s initiatives to improve the university environment and promote a culture of volunteerism, the Department of Computer Engineering, in collaboration with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, organized a voluntary tree-planting campaign on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in the front garden located near the department’s parking area.
This initiative comes within the framework of efforts to combat desertification in Iraq, expand green spaces within the university, reduce environmental pollution, and raise students’ awareness about the importance of preserving the environment and plant life.
The campaign witnessed active participation from faculty members and students, who contributed to planting various types of trees and plants. Participants emphasized that such activities represent an important step toward creating a green and sustainable university environment, reflecting the spirit of cooperation and social responsibility.
