The Department of Architecture at the University of Baghdad participated in the International Scientific Conference on Architectural and Civil Engineering, Interior Design, and Environmental Sustainability, organized by Cihan University – Erbil in collaboration with Putra University, Malaysia, on February 26-27, 2025.
The participation included several research papers presented by faculty members:
- Prof. Dr. Saad Fawzi Tu’ma
- Prof. Dr. Kazem Faris Dhahmad
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdulhussein Al-Askari
Additionally, PhD students participated:
- Suhaib Abbas Ali
- Mohammed Noori
- Mohammed Farhan
- Noor Haidar Kamel
The conference attracted significant interest from both international and Iraqi researchers, featuring 56 scientific papers from the United Kingdom, Turkey, Iran, Malaysia, and Iraq. The University of Baghdad’s Department of Architecture made a notable contribution, covering diverse topics such as resilient urban environments, rural housing in the marshlands, and sustainable conservation strategies.
