On Thursday, December 26, 2025, the Department of Mechanical Engineering had the honor of welcoming the esteemed Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majid. He was received by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Karim Hassan Ali, the Department Coordinator for Undergraduate Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Sarmad Aziz, and several faculty members.
The visit aimed to address the department’s needs and challenges, facilitating solutions to enhance its operations. During the visit, His Excellency toured the computer lab to observe the recent developments following its rehabilitation. He also met with the examination committee to monitor the second-level/first-semester exams conducted under the Bologna Process, reviewing and signing the forms and records of the previous year’s exams. His Excellency commended the committee for their commitment and dedication to supporting the students.
Additionally, the Dean attended the discussion of PhD candidate Hassan Abdul Kazem, held in the Professor Dr. Ihsan Hall, accompanied by the Head of the Department.
