Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid, and in collaboration with the Department of Architecture, scientific department representatives, and the Continuing Education Unit, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering, represented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ilham Ali Al-Anouz, inaugurated an exhibition of poster designs aimed at combating violence against women. The event, themed “Empowering Women for a Prosperous Society,” was held on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
The exhibition was organized in solidarity with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. It aimed to raise awareness of the pivotal role of women in society and highlight the importance of protecting them from all forms of violence.
The posters showcased topics emphasizing the significance of shielding women from psychological, physical, and moral violence. The exhibition featured contributions from distinguished female students of the College of Engineering, who displayed slogans underscoring the transformative power of education as a force supporting women against violence.
This initiative reflects a commitment to fostering peace and equality for women within Iraqi society, affirming the critical role of education in driving positive change and empowering women.
