“Improving Quality Production Process Through the Application of Fuzzy Control Charts “.

This study interested with fuzzy control charts address the problems mentioned in traditional charts, as fuzzy control charts study the changes that are considered systematic that occur among the sample size. The process of fuzzing data depends on a value ranging between (0-1) % called alpha-fuzzy (α). a program was built to fuzzify the data and draw and analyze the fuzzy charts for the variables (X ̅  ̃-R ̃, X ̅  ̃-S ̃, I-(MR) ̃) using the program (MATLAB-20) in addition to calculating process capability indices.

Accordingly, the thesis included recommendations including:

  • The fuzzification of the data increases the standard deviation of the process in all case studies. Fuzzy control limits were more flexible than traditional control limits in terms of the number of attempts and the number of samples deleted to reach the approved control limits.
  • the process capability indicators, they all decreased after data fuzzing because of the increment of the process’ variation after fuzzification. The process capability decreased by (1.379) for the wire data (150 RMC Cu) and by (1.004) for the data for the wire (120/20 ACSR AL).
  • The program helps decision-makers in this field adopt fuzzy control limits for subsequent production operations on traditional control charts to improve production quality.

After the scientific discussion by the members of the discussion committee, the researcher received a rating of (very good).
