The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad welcomed, on Thursday, 18 June 2026, a ministerial committee tasked with evaluating the scientific and academic status of engineering colleges in Iraq for the 2025–2026 academic year. The visit was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to monitor academic quality and strengthen engineering education standards across Iraqi universities.

The committee was received by Professor Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, Dean of the College of Engineering, accompanied by Professor Dr. Ziad Tariq Abdul Ali, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies. During the visit, the committee reviewed the College’s scientific and academic environment and discussed key developments in academic curricula, the educational environment, and scientific research activities.

The committee also received a detailed presentation on the College’s achievements and its future plans for developing academic programs and enhancing institutional performance in accordance with the quality assurance and academic accreditation standards adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This visit comes as part of a series of ministerial initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of engineering education in Iraq and ensuring the quality of its academic outcomes.
