The Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering – University of Baghdad organized an introductory workshop on the “Riyada Initiative” to support small projects on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the initiative hall in the department. The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students interested in developing their entrepreneurial skills.
The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hussein Alawi Salim, a certified trainer in the initiative, who reviewed the objectives of the “Riyada Initiative” and its role in empowering young people to establish innovative projects and enter the labor market efficiently.
The workshop covered several key topics, including concepts of change and mental image in dealing with challenges, the importance of creative thinking in business management, as well as methods for attracting customers and ensuring project sustainability. It also addressed continuous development tools based on the “Deming Cycle” and mechanisms for preparing an integrated and applicable business plan.
The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of promoting the culture of entrepreneurship among students and encouraging them to transform ideas into practical projects that contribute to supporting the national economy and developing their future capabilities.
