The Department of Architecture at University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Regular Aerobic and Resistance Exercises Combined with Nutritional Balance and Their Impact on Weight Loss” on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Mohammed Makiya Hall. The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Munther.
The workshop highlighted the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle based on nutritional balance and regular physical activity. It explained the main nutritional components—carbohydrates, proteins, and fats—and how the human body processes calories, including how excess calories are converted into stored fat that leads to weight gain.
It also addressed the role of aerobic exercises and resistance training in improving physical fitness and enhancing fat-burning processes. The workshop emphasized the importance of maintaining regular exercise to sustain a healthy weight and reduce obesity-related health issues, in addition to promoting the consumption of beneficial foods while avoiding high-calorie, low-nutrient diets.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Munther stressed the importance of spreading health awareness among students and encouraging them to adopt a balanced lifestyle that combines proper nutrition with regular physical activity, given its significant role in improving both physical and mental well-being.
