The Human Rights Unit at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit and the Aeronautical Engineering Department, organized a scientific workshop titled “Environmental Laws and Safety Procedures for Engineering Students.” The session was delivered by Dr. Mohammed Khalil Ahmed and attended by a number of college students.

The workshop aimed to promote a culture of occupational safety among students and introduce them to key environmental laws and regulations  (related to the engineering field), in addition to strengthening their sense of social responsibility toward the environment and society.

The workshop covered several key topics, focusing on the importance of adhering to safety standards in engineering projects and the role of engineers in protecting the environment through the application of approved environmental laws and regulations.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Dr. Mohammed Khalil emphasized the need to integrate environmental and safety topics into academic curricula, increase the number of practical workshops and training courses, and encourage students to adhere to safety procedures in their academic and professional projects. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between the college and relevant institutions to promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness in society.
