The College of Engineering at University of Baghdad has achieved a distinguished academic milestone with the inclusion of the Journal of Engineering in the global Scopus database, following its successful fulfillment of the evaluation criteria set by the Content Selection and Advisory Board (CSAB).

This achievement aligns with the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to strengthen the presence of Iraqi scientific journals in reputable international databases and to elevate the standards of academic publishing in accordance with global quality benchmarks.

In this context, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, expressed his pride in this accomplishment, emphasizing that it represents a significant step reflecting the college’s advanced academic standing and the continuous research efforts made by the journal’s editorial board and researchers to enhance its scientific quality. He noted that this success supports the college’s orientation toward promoting rigorous scientific research and encouraging publication in internationally indexed journals, thereby reinforcing the academic presence of the University of Baghdad at both regional and international levels.

For his part, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Ziyad Tariq Abdul Ali, praised this achievement, stating that the journal’s inclusion in Scopus is the result of organized institutional work and sustained scientific efforts in adhering to international publishing standards. He added that this progress reflects the college’s commitment to fostering a culture of quality and academic integrity, as well as providing a supportive research environment that contributes to the development of scientific output and encourages researchers to publish in reputable databases.
