The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a scientific visit on Sunday, December 7, 2025, for third-year students to Al-Quds Thermal Power Plant in the Al-Rashidiya area, under the supervision of a group of faculty members from the department.
The visit aimed to enhance the students’ practical skills by providing on-site exposure to the operating mechanisms of mechanical turbine systems used in electrical power generation, as well as introducing them to the main components of the power plant and the various stages of operation.
The visit included a field tour of the plant’s departments, during which specialists provided a comprehensive explanation of the working mechanisms and the adopted operational procedures, in addition to answering the students’ scientific and technical questions.
The visit contributed to offering students the opportunity to engage with a real industrial working environment, strengthening their ability to link the theoretical concepts studied in classrooms with practical applications in the field, thereby enhancing their scientific skills and preparing them for the labor market.
