In a step aimed at strengthening scientific and academic collaboration between higher education institutions, the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad signed a twinning and joint cooperation agreement with the College of Engineering at Al-Bayan University on Monday, June 15, 2026, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to support academic twinning programs and enhance the quality of education and scientific research in Iraq.
The agreement was signed during an official visit by Assistant Professor Dr. Dhurgham Mazhar Karim Al-Obaidi, Dean of the College of Engineering at Al-Bayan University, who signed the agreement with Professor Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, in the presence of Professor Dr. Ziyad Tariq Abdul Ali, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies.
The agreement establishes a comprehensive cooperation program in the field of engineering, including the exchange of scientific and administrative expertise among academic staff, the organization of joint workshops, seminars, and scientific conferences, as well as the activation of cultural and scientific student activities. These initiatives aim to foster innovation, strengthen the academic environment, and build solid scientific communication bridges between the two institutions.
This agreement reflects the commitment of both colleges to unifying efforts and sharing academic expertise, thereby enhancing scientific research and supporting development objectives within the higher education sector.
