On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, organized a wide-scale tree-planting initiative to increase green spaces, as part of the university’s Entrepreneurship Week activities.
The initiative saw the participation of a number of faculty members and students, aiming to raise environmental awareness and embody entrepreneurial action by transforming ideas into practical and sustainable initiatives that benefit the community.
Prof. Dr. Firas Mohammed Tuaima, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, emphasized that “this initiative reflects the spirit of cooperation within the academic community and demonstrates the department’s commitment to its societal and environmental role.”
He also highlighted that this initiative represents the first step in a series of planned environmental and community activities, underscoring the department’s active role in serving the community and preserving the environment.
