Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Imran Mohsen Al-Sultani, a faculty member at the College of Engineering, Department of Water Resources Engineering, University of Baghdad, participated in the Arab Water and Food Forum held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Ali, during the period 24–25 November 2025.
This participation came within the framework of Arab scientific efforts aimed at enhancing the concept of water accounting, developing water harvesting techniques, and increasing agricultural crop productivity—particularly Arabic coffee—in order to address the growing challenges associated with climate change and water scarcity in the region.
During the forum sessions, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Imran presented his specialized scientific perspective, highlighting the role of water harvesting in achieving water and food security in Arab countries, especially those suffering from drought and limited surface water resources. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening regional cooperation and exchanging expertise between academic institutions and executive bodies to establish qualitative projects that contribute to community support and improved environmental sustainability.
The forum witnessed broad Arab participation by experts and specialists in the water and agriculture sectors, with the aim of formulating joint initiatives that support pathways toward water and food security in the region.
