Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Ghassan Hamid Abdul-Majeed, the Computer Engineering Department, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized an in-person discussion session titled “Building a VPN Tunnel Step-by-Step” on Monday, November 24, 2025.
The session was moderated by the Head of the Scientific Affairs Committee in the department, Prof. Sadiq Habeeb Abdul-Hussain, and presented by Assoc. Prof. Fouad Ali Yaseen, in the department’s discussion hall, with the attendance of several faculty members. The presentation covered the fundamental steps for creating a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) tunnel, along with an explanation of the technical variables that influence the efficiency and confidentiality of data transmission within network systems.
The session concluded with several recommendations, most notably the need to strengthen integration between academic knowledge and practical application, and to highlight the differences between training through simulation software and working with real devices in network environments.
