As part of the communication with various state sectors, including the industrial sector, the Chemical Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, held a meeting with the Industrial Advisory Council formed under a letter from the Dean of the College of Engineering. The aim of the meeting is to strengthen mutual cooperation and open channels for participation in various activities and events, whether in research or engineering and scientific consultations with the industrial sector. This meeting comes as part of the requirements to achieve engineering program accreditation and also aligns with the recommendations of the university and the ministry to enhance scientific collaboration among different state institutions.

 

The meeting was attended by the head of the Chemical Engineering Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Rasha Habib Salman, along with representatives from the Chemical Engineering Department and representatives from the industrial sector. During the meeting, future cooperation plans and mechanisms were reviewed, as well as ways to collaborate in the job market for graduates of the department. Representatives from the industrial sector also attended discussions on the graduation projects of fourth-year students.

 

These meetings are part of leveraging the expertise of the industrial sector and their available equipment, whether in terms of analyses and tests or conducting joint experiments and research. At the end of the meeting, the department head thanked the members of the industrial sector for their ongoing communication, follow-up, and sincere desire to collaborate and participate. For their part, representatives from the industrial sector expressed their optimism and admiration for the scientific level of the students, which leads to acquiring the necessary scientific skills to meet the demands of both private and governmental job markets.
