Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, and under the supervision of the Head of the Aeronautical Engineering Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Anmar Hamed Ali, the department, in collaboration with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, launched an awareness campaign aimed at combating drug abuse and highlighting its negative impact on both mental and physical health.
The campaign featured the release of informational posters illustrating the harmful effects of drug use on youth and society at large. These posters were displayed throughout the college’s corridors to raise awareness about the health and social risks associated with drug abuse.
Organizers emphasized that this initiative is part of a broader series of activities aimed at fostering a safe and healthy university environment, while encouraging students to adopt positive and healthy lifestyles that contribute to raising social awareness within the campus.
The campaign also stressed the importance of taking proactive steps to curb the spread of this dangerous phenomenon. Students were urged to engage with the campaign, absorb the shared information, and help disseminate awareness among their peers in order to build a safer and more conscious university community.
