As part of the collaborative efforts between the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Baghdad and the Iraqi Engineers Union / Chemical Engineering Section, a specialized scientific workshop titled “Precision Instruments and Their Importance in Chemical Processes” was held today in Dr. Mahmoud Omar Hall, attended by a group of academics, engineers, and students.

The workshop addressed the latest methods and techniques used in monitoring and improving the performance of industrial and chemical processes, with a focus on precision measuring instruments and their vital role in enhancing production efficiency and quality. Practical applications of these instruments within the industrial context were also presented.

Lectures during the workshop were delivered by Engineer Ali Saber, Head of the Chemical Engineering Section at the Iraqi Engineers Union, and Engineer Mustafa Rashid Mohsen (Senior Engineer at the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities), with the session moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Thabet Al-Rubaie, a faculty member in the Department of Chemical Engineering.

The speakers emphasized the importance of integrating modern technologies in factories and chemical facilities to enhance quality and safety standards, stressing the need to expand cooperation frameworks between academic institutions and executive sectors.

The workshop concluded with an open dialogue among participants, facilitating the exchange of opinions and experiences in a fruitful interactive atmosphere. This event is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering in collaboration with state institutions and the professional sector, aimed at developing skills and keeping up with the latest technological advancements in the engineering field.
