Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, the Cisco Networking Academy Unit concluded on Thursday, May 8, 2025, a training course titled Wired and Wireless Network Operations. The five-day course was delivered by Dr. Ismail Shanan Dshir, Director of the Cisco Academy Unit and a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering.
The course aimed to enhance the practical and technical skills of the trainees in network design and understanding its fundamental structure, as well as to enable them to effectively and efficiently work with wired and wireless communication technologies. The course covered a comprehensive introduction to network design, the essential equipment required for building networks, the technical characteristics of this equipment, the mechanism of data transmission between network components, the challenges that hinder data transfer, and the appropriate speeds for processing it. In addition, it reviewed the historical and rapid development of networking systems.
This course is part of the College of Engineering’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the practical aspect of education and transfer modern technical expertise to trainees, in line with labor market requirements and in support of preparing qualified personnel in the field of computer networks.
