As part of scientific collaboration, a group of professors from the Department of Surveying Engineering welcomed several professors from the Department of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems, College of Science / University of Baghdad, along with several first-year students on Sunday, April 20, 2025. The visit was conducted within the framework of the Cartography course and aimed at broadening the students’ scientific horizons.

Prof. Dr. Maythem Mutashar, Head of the Department, expressed great interest in the visit, emphasizing the importance of continued scientific communication and information sharing between academic departments. He highlighted the value of skill acquisition and the role such experiences play in enriching projects that enhance knowledge.

The students expressed that such scientific visits are highly valuable to them, as they were eager to make the most of the opportunity to explore, inquire, and connect the theoretical aspects of their studies with practical applications. They also noted the relevance of surveying instruments in the labor market, as these tools contribute to innovative discoveries that benefit surveying work. Organizing such specialized activities is essential in showcasing youth creativity and academic excellence. The visit aimed to shed light on the practical innovations of young people and how these can be utilized across various fields.
