On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, the Department of Energy Engineering received a specialized ministerial committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The visit was part of the preliminary procedures for establishing a Ph.D. program in the department. The committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Fakhri Khudair, with members Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Khudair Abd Shabj, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Najm Abdullah, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibtihaj Abdulwahab Abdulrazzaq.
The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the department’s scientific, human, and infrastructural capabilities and to assess its readiness to host postgraduate students at the doctoral level. The committee conducted a field tour of the department’s facilities, reviewed laboratories, and examined the adopted curricula.
In addition, the committee met with the academic staff to discuss research plans and proposed academic programs. The head of the department emphasized that this visit represents an important step toward enhancing the academic and research status of the department, noting that the establishment of the Ph.D. program will contribute to the development of scientific competencies and meet labor market needs in the field of energy engineering.
