In a remarkable academic achievement, the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Baghdad has entered the QS World Rankings, making it the only department in Iraq to receive this classification in the field of chemical engineering.
This accomplishment reflects the department’s commitment to providing high-quality education, enhancing scientific research, and developing academic partnerships, alongside having a highly qualified faculty.
The QS rankings are based on rigorous criteria, including the analysis of over 16.4 million academic papers and surveys of 151,000 academics and 100,000 employers, adding significant credibility and weight to the results.
Additionally, the University of Baghdad has achieved an advanced global ranking in petroleum engineering, placing within the (51-100) category worldwide according to the QS World Rankings for 2025. This further strengthens its position as a leading academic institution.
