Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majid, the Cisco Networking Academy Unit at Baghdad University concluded a training course titled “WAN & LAN Network Operations (Packet Tracer)” on February 27, 2025. The course, which lasted for five days, was delivered by Dr. Ismail Shannan Dashir, Director of the Cisco Academy Unit and faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering.
The course covered several key topics, including an introduction to network design and the necessary equipment for building networks. It also provided a detailed explanation of the full capabilities of these devices and how information is transmitted across the network. Additionally, the course addressed challenges related to networks, the appropriate speed for data transmission, and the rapid historical development of networking systems.
