The Department of Architecture Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, organized a specialized workshop today, Monday, under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering. The workshop was attended by a number of researchers, professors, department staff, and students.
The workshop included two main topics. The first topic addressed the strategies followed by architects in developing the open spaces of Al-Azhar Gardens, with the aim of making them sustainable and socially viable by enhancing the principle of community partnership. This topic was presented by Professor Dr. Islam Al-Ghuneimi from the University of Bahrain, and Professor Dr. Saad Fawzi Taima, Head of the Department of Architecture Engineering at the University of Baghdad.
The second topic focused on the mechanisms of designing movement and visual axes in urban spaces, with particular emphasis on designing urban spaces that transition between public and private, especially in residential complexes. This topic was presented by Lecturer Dr. Nasreen Rizak Ibrahim from the Department of Architecture Engineering, University of Baghdad.
The workshop witnessed wide interaction from the audience, as participants discussed the importance of sustainable urban design and its role in improving the quality of life within cities and residential communities, exchanging ideas and insights on the latest methods in urban space planning.
