The Department of Electrical Engineering, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a specialized workshop on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, entitled “Statistical Analysis of Factors Affecting Students’ Academic Performance in the Department of Electrical Engineering.” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Manar Naji and attended by the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Firas Mohammed Tuama, along with a number of faculty members and staff.
The workshop aimed to examine the educational, social, and economic factors influencing students’ academic performance through data collected from an electronic survey. It also sought to demonstrate statistical analysis methods using measures of central tendency and dispersion, particularly the arithmetic mean and standard deviation. In addition, the workshop reviewed modern teaching methodologies and their role in enhancing academic achievement.
The event featured scientific discussions emphasizing the importance of utilizing the outcomes of statistical studies in the development of the educational process. The Head of the Department stressed the need to benefit from the findings in supporting educational quality and informing appropriate academic decision-making.
The workshop concluded with a number of recommendations aimed at improving students’ academic performance and further enhancing the quality of education within the department.
