Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul-Majeed, and supervised by the Head of the Department of Surveying Engineering, Prof. Dr. Meythem Mutasher Sharqi, the Department of Surveying Engineering organized a scientific workshop for postgraduate students titled:
“How to Write a Scientific Research Paper for Postgraduate Students.”
As part of the scientific activities of the Department of Surveying Engineering, the workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Youssef Hussein Khalaf on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in Professor Fawzi Al-Khalisi Hall at the Department of Surveying Engineering.
The workshop aligned with the ministry’s directives under the program to enhance the skills of postgraduate students. It was attended by a number of postgraduate students from the department and other departments.
The workshop aimed to introduce students to the concept of scientific research and its components in terms of inputs, processing, and outputs. It also addressed the steps of scientific research, including Identifying a research problem and defining its dimensions, reviewing previous studies, formulating research hypotheses, Collecting and analyzing data, and reaching the study’s conclusions.
The students expressed their gratitude to the department’s administration for organizing such a valuable workshop, emphasizing the importance of such topics in strengthening the quality of scientific research.
