Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hameed Abdul-Majeed, the Department of Architecture at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in cooperation with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit and the Continuing Education Unit, entitled “Promoting Awareness of Mental Health and Methods of Stress Prevention.”

The workshop was delivered by Asst. Lect. Rasha Abdullah Saadoun Al-Zalzali, and was attended by a number of students and faculty members.

The workshop aimed to introduce students to the concept of mental health and its importance in university life. It also explained the nature of psychological stress and its sources, as well as identifying early indicators of stress and burnout. In addition, the workshop presented practical strategies for managing stress, adapting positively to challenging situations, and promoting a culture of seeking help and consulting specialized support services when needed, thereby contributing to a positive university environment based on understanding and psychological balance.

The lecturer recommended activating psychological counseling units within the college, organizing regular workshops and psychological support courses, promoting a culture of dialogue and openness among students, and providing a flexible educational environment that safeguards students’ mental well-being and contributes to their academic and personal success.

The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing such activities to enhance students’ psychological awareness and develop their skills in facing academic challenges and pressures in a positive and effective manner.
