The Department of Electrical Engineering held a ceremony on the occasion of Assistant Lecturer Akram Nouri Marza successful defending his PhD dissertation at the College of Engineering – University of Basrah. The dissertation, titled:
“Assessment of the Impact of High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Transmission on the Iraqi Power Grid”,
A comprehensive study aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of Iraq’s electrical system through the integration of HVDC transmission systems is presented. The research offers innovative technical solutions to reduce energy losses, enhance grid stability, and support the sustainable development of Iraq’s power sector.
This scientific achievement was realized under the supervision of Professor Dr. Firas Mohammed Tu’aymah, who played a pivotal role in guiding and supporting the researcher throughout the project and was a sponsor of the ceremony, which was attended by a number of teaching staff and teaching assistants in the department.
On this joyous occasion, the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad expresses its pride in this outstanding accomplishment, wishing Akram Nouri Mirzah continued success in his academic and professional journey.
