To foster student activities and enhance life skills, a group of engineering students participated in a training program organized by the Student Activities Department at the University of Baghdad on camping. The training session took place on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the sports fields of the College of Engineering in an engaging and dynamic atmosphere.
The program aimed to teach students the basics of camping through practical and theoretical sessions. Topics included setting up tents, preparing food outdoors, safety guidelines during camping, and methods for tackling environmental challenges. The program also focused on developing leadership and teamwork skills, which helped foster a sense of cooperation among the students.
At the end of the activity, the Associate Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Mohammed Sadiq Salman, honored the supervisors of the training program in recognition of their efforts in organizing this outstanding activity. Dr. Mohammed Sadiq Salman expressed his gratitude to the supervisors and participating students, emphasizing the importance of such events in refining students’ skills and expanding their knowledge beyond the academic curriculum.
The students expressed their appreciation for participating in the program, noting that it provided them with new practical and theoretical experiences and allowed them to interact positively with their peers in an educational and recreational environment.
This event is part of a series of activities through which the College of Engineering aims to integrate academic learning with extracurricular programs, preparing a generation of engineers capable of meeting challenges with initiative and creativity.
