Under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Basim Shaba Abed, Chair of the Department of Water Resources Engineering, the Department of Water Resources Engineering held a workshop entitled the ethics of scientific research, which was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Omran Muhsin and Dr. Alyaa Shaker. The lecturers explained that the ethics of scientific research is one of the sections of ethics science, which aims to adhere to all ethical ideals and principles, while avoiding fraud, plagiarism or falsification of information and everything that offends the scientific research work. Any scientific research should follow ethical principles, especially when it comes to people who participate in research. Developing high-quality scientific research necessitates having confidence in both the research content and the results obtained, which in turn requires strict adherence to all scientific research ethics and the essential qualities expected of a researcher. Therefore, it is crucial for all researchers and students to uphold these ethics, as any violation could have detrimental effects on scientific research as a whole and on the individual researcher. The workshop was attended by a number of postgraduate students and a number of employees of the Department of Water Resources Engineering and other departments of the college of engineering.
