Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ghassan Hameed Abdul Majeed, Dean of the College of Engineering, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled “Mathematical Modeling of Mechanical Systems and Controller Design in the MATLAB/Simulink Environment,” in cooperation with the Career Development and Employment Unit and the Continuing Education Unit. The workshop took place on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, in Dr. Ihsan Yahya Hall at the department.
Delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Ibrahim Hassan Al-Zughaibi, the workshop was intended for faculty members and postgraduate students. It focused on representing mechanical systems through mathematical models and designing controllers using MATLAB/Simulink, strengthening the connection between theoretical concepts and engineering simulation tools.
The workshop formed part of the department’s academic activities aimed at developing research and practical skills and promoting the use of engineering software in the study and control of mechanical systems.
