In a step aimed at raising environmental awareness and fostering a culture of sustainability, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, organized a tree-planting campaign on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, under the slogan:
“Our University is Green… A Better Environment and a Sustainable Future.”
The campaign was conducted under the supervision and follow-up of the Unit Director, Prof. Dr. Ilham Ali Baayouy, with broad participation from the College’s engineering departments.
The campaign included planting trees, seedlings, and flowers in the College’s gardens and corridors, with the aim of expanding green spaces, promoting volunteerism and environmental responsibility, improving the university environment, and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.
This campaign is part of the College of Engineering’s commitment to strengthening its environmental initiatives and embedding a culture of sustainability across the university campus. It also seeks to provide a healthy and sustainable university environment that promotes environmental awareness and social responsibility.
