As part of efforts to enhance scientific and academic cooperation between public and private higher education institutions, the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad signed a twinning and joint scientific cooperation agreement with Al-Idrisi University College on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
This initiative is in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research aimed at activating academic twinning programs, advancing the quality of higher education and scientific research in Iraq, and promoting integration among academic institutions to support scientific and educational development.
The agreement was signed during an official visit by a delegation from Al-Idrisi University College headed by its Dean, Professor Dr. Mohammed Khalid Baraa. The agreement was signed with Professor Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, in the presence of Professor Dr. Ziyad Tariq Abdul Ali, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies; Professor Dr. Falih Hassan, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs; and Assistant Professor Dr. Osama Abdul Munim, Head of the Department of Architecture.
The agreement includes a comprehensive cooperation program in the field of architecture, covering the exchange of scientific and administrative expertise among academic staff, the organization of joint workshops, seminars, and scientific conferences, as well as the activation of cultural and scientific student activities. These initiatives aim to support innovation, strengthen the academic environment, and establish effective channels of scientific collaboration between the two institutions.
This agreement reflects the College of Engineering’s commitment to expanding cooperation with academic institutions, contributing to the development of the educational and research environment and enhancing the quality of scientific outputs across various engineering disciplines.
