The Department of Chemical Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, has achieved a new academic milestone by obtaining National Programmatic Accreditation for its Bachelor’s Degree Program in Engineering for a period of six years. This accreditation was granted under a ministerial order issued by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research after the program successfully fulfilled all requirements and standards of the National Accreditation Framework for Engineering Education Programs.
This accreditation represents the culmination of the department’s commitment to implementing quality assurance and academic accreditation standards, as well as its continuous efforts to develop curricula and enhance learning outcomes in line with labor market demands and national and international standards for engineering education.
The achievement also reflects the sustained scientific and administrative efforts of the department’s leadership, academic committees, and faculty members in advancing and continuously improving the academic and research environment.
This distinction further extends the department’s record of academic excellence, as it was previously included in the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), reinforcing its prestigious academic standing and its ability to compete both locally and internationally in the fields of education and scientific research.
