The Council of the Chemical Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, held elections on Monday, September 7, 2026, to select the members of the Department’s Scientific Committee and Postgraduate Studies Committee. The electoral process was conducted in the presence of the Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Rasha Habib Salman.
The elections were conducted in an atmosphere of democracy, transparency, and academic responsibility. Members of the Department Council participated in the voting process to elect the members of both committees, reflecting the department’s commitment to the principles of participation and collective decision-making in academic and administrative affairs.
The elections represent an important step toward strengthening sound academic practices and enhancing the role of specialized committees in organizing, supervising, and following up on scientific affairs and postgraduate studies. They also reflect the department’s ongoing efforts to promote institutional work and improve the quality of academic, research, and administrative performance.
At the conclusion of the electoral process, the importance of cooperation, coordination, and teamwork among the newly elected committee members and the Department Council was emphasized. Such collaborative efforts are expected to contribute to advancing the department’s academic, educational, and research activities and further supporting the scientific mission of the Chemical Engineering Department and the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad.
