Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering at University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, the Psychological Counseling and University Guidance Unit at the College of Engineering, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit and the Department of Surveying Engineering, organized an awareness workshop entitled “The Benefits of Using Artificial Intelligence in Various Areas of Life.” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Tayba Hussein Mizal on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Al-Ustadh Fawzi Al-Khalisi Hall in the Department of Surveying Engineering, in the presence of the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Dawood Salman.

The workshop aimed to introduce the concept of artificial intelligence and highlight its role in creating positive transformations across various fields of life, particularly in the healthcare, educational, and industrial sectors. It also focused on how artificial intelligence contributes to improving performance efficiency, supporting development pathways, and keeping pace with rapid technological advancement.

The workshop discussed the importance of artificial intelligence as one of the most prominent modern technologies witnessing significant expansion in its applications. It emphasized its contribution to improving the quality of services, developing academic and professional work environments, and enhancing decision-making efficiency through data analysis.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the lecturer recommended the necessity of increasing awareness of artificial intelligence technologies, integrating AI skills into curricula and training programs, and supporting educational institutions in developing students’ capabilities in this field. She also highlighted the importance of establishing regulatory legislation for the use of artificial intelligence to ensure the protection of privacy and digital security, while emphasizing the responsible use of these technologies in ways that serve society and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.
