The Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad organized a series of scientific discussion sessions for postgraduate students over two days, Wednesday and Thursday, May 6–7, 2026. These sessions were held as part of the department’s efforts to develop research performance and enhance the scientific output of students, in the presence of the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Firas Mohammed Tuaima, along with a distinguished group of faculty members.
The activities of the first day, Wednesday, May 6, were dedicated to discussing master’s projects in the fields of Electronics and Communications Engineering, as well as Power and Machines Engineering. The scientific program continued on the second day, Thursday, May 7, to include discussions of PhD and master’s research in the field of Control and Computer Engineering.
During the sessions, students delivered detailed scientific presentations in which they reviewed the progress of their research in both theoretical and practical aspects, in addition to presenting the key findings achieved. The sessions were conducted in an interactive academic environment characterized by rigorous scientific discussions and specialized feedback from faculty members, contributing to the evaluation of research pathways and strengthening their academic quality.
For his part, Professor Dr. Firas Mohammed Tuaima praised the efforts made by postgraduate students, emphasizing that these sessions represent an essential stage in the research process and contribute to refining students’ skills and enhancing their scientific and academic capabilities.
The activities concluded with the presentation of a number of scientific and technical recommendations to the students, stressing the importance of adhering to them while completing the requirements of their research in accordance with approved academic standards. This, in turn, contributes to strengthening their research competence and preparing qualified scientific cadres capable of supporting the progress of scientific research in Iraq.
