The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad witnessed distinguished student activities on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, combining artistic creativity and scientific innovation. These included a theatrical performance titled “The Doll’s House” alongside the launch of the “Fourth Charitable Scientific Exhibition,” all within a vibrant academic and cultural atmosphere.

The theatrical performance was held in the hall of the Department of Electrical Engineering and organized jointly by students from the Departments of Electrical and Chemical Engineering, under the patronage of the college administration and supervised by Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Ali Hussein. The event aimed to promote integration between scientific and creative aspects and to showcase students’ artistic talents within the university environment.

The activities were attended by the Assistant President of the University of Baghdad for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, and the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed. They were received by the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Firas Mohammed Tuaima, along with several faculty members and students, who praised the artistic and organizational quality of the performance.

The theatrical work presented a contemporary artistic interpretation inspired by the works of the international writer Katherine Mansfield, reflecting deep human and social themes, and demonstrating the students’ ability to adapt global literature into a theatrical vision that blends artistic expression with intellectual analysis.

Simultaneously, the Department of Electrical Engineering hosted the opening of the “Fourth Charitable Scientific Exhibition,” which represented both a scientific and humanitarian initiative, combining knowledge-based innovation with a spirit of community engagement. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs in the presence of the Dean and a number of faculty members and students.

The exhibition featured projects of advanced scientific and technical quality, receiving wide acclaim. Three outstanding projects were selected to be adopted  the “Science Parks” program, supporting their transformation into practical applications serving the industrial and technological sectors.

These events are part of the extracurricular activities that the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad is keen to support, contributing to the development of students’ skills, refinement of their talents, and the promotion of a university environment that fosters creativity and academic and cultural excellence.
