The Computer Engineering Department at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a seminar titled “Mastering the Art of Public Speaking.” The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hind Mohammed Abd on Monday, April 6, 2026, in the department’s discussion hall, with the attendance of several faculty members.
The seminar addressed the importance of developing presentation and public speaking skills, as well as enhancing the ability to influence an audience. It emphasized that public speaking is a comprehensive skill that relies on self-confidence, proper preparation, and effective communication with listeners. The session also highlighted the key foundations of building a successful and impactful speech, starting from selecting an appropriate topic, organizing and structuring ideas, and ending with delivery style and its crucial role in conveying the message and achieving the desired impact.
In conclusion, the lecturer stressed the importance of clearly identifying the target audience before preparing a speech, selecting a topic that aligns with their interests, and using clear and accurate language. She also emphasized the importance of delivery techniques and presentation style to ensure effectiveness and strong audience engagement.
