The Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, organized a research seminar for postgraduate students entitled “Current State of Research Topics in Electronics and Communications for Master’s Students.” The event was attended by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Aqeel Neama Al-Maamouri, the Postgraduate Studies Coordinator, Lecturer Dr. Aqeel Abdul Aziz, along with several faculty members and postgraduate students.

The seminar was held in the discussion hall on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. It featured presentations of Master’s students’ research projects, followed by in-depth scientific discussions. Supervising professors provided practical guidance aimed at developing and completing the projects in alignment with the department’s academic directions and the requirements of the labor market.

The session included productive scientific discussions that enriched the seminar’s themes. Emphasis was placed on effective time management, leveraging the strengths of the proposed research topics, and addressing areas of weakness to ensure timely completion. Students were also encouraged to select research topics that serve the local community and address real-world challenges in the labor market, while strengthening research methodologies that enable them to publish their work in international indexed journals. This, in turn, contributes to enhancing their academic level and reinforcing the institution’s scholarly rigor.

This research seminar forms part of the department’s continuous efforts to support postgraduate studies and foster a robust research environment capable of preparing specialized scientific cadres who can keep pace with the rapid advancements in the fields of electronics and communications.
