The College of Engineering Council held its sixteenth session at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 16 August, chaired by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Abdul-Hamid, and attended by the assistant deans and heads of scientific departments.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean presented several recommendations from the University of Baghdad Council, emphasizing the need to complete the requirements for the upcoming academic year and to begin implementing the electronic registration system for new students through the Student Program developed by the Computer Center at the University of Baghdad.
The Dean also pointed out the importance of organizing seminars and workshops on topics that serve the community, including their role in addressing and mitigating various harmful behaviors and societal issues such as gender topics and the drug problem, in accordance with university directives.
The Council discussed the directives of the Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Studies regarding the approval of curricula, their submission to the university, and their review by the specialized curriculum development committee.
With respect to undergraduate studies, the Council issued several directives related to preparing the second-round examination schedule and finalizing all technical requirements necessary for holding the examinations, in addition to monitoring the performance of examination committees across all departments.
The Council also approved a number of extension requests submitted by postgraduate students and reviewed various directives and official communications received from the university for implementation.
