As part of its scientific activities, the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Baghdad, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Firas Mohammed Tuaimah, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, organized a workshop in Mahdi Hantoush Hall on Thursday 12th Dec. 2024. The workshop was entitled “Building Power Plants: From Concept to Reality” and delivered by the consulting engineer Youssef Ali Taher, a consultant for power plants and renewable energy. The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members and college students from various specializations. It included an overview of power plants, their types, and the importance of relying on clean energy to obtain a sustainable environment. It also had a discussion of the most important challenges and proposed solutions for building power plants and switching to the use of renewable energy in Iraq. The audience interacted with the lecturer through questions and inquiries answered by the visiting engineer.
